ASUS ROG STRIX B660-A Review
A trend that was happening just before the world changed with the spread of the Covid virus was the rapid increase in pricing of the various components you need to build a good system. Primarily the price problem was one to do with graphics cards, but those increases found themselves trickling in to other areas too. When the new Intel 12th Generation was launched the price of DDR5 was staggering, and that was assuming you could find any to buy. For anyone who was gaming on a budget it seemed like the end might be nigh, and that a console was the only affordable way forwards. Thankfully with a little bit of lateral thinking you can still get a rig that has all the important technologies on board, and looks the part, without necessarily causing you to have to seek a second job. We’ve already looked at a great value setup with the B660 chipset and Intel’s fantastic Core i5-12400, so when the ASUS Strix B660-A was launched we knew it was the perfect chance to revisit that arrangement and see how much fun you could have without having to sell a kidney.
