The PCIe SSD E220S provides superior transfer speeds by utilizing the PCI Express Gen3 x4 interface, the newest NVMe standard, 3D NAND flash memory, and a DRAM cache. Transcend's PCIe SSD E220S adheres to NVMe 1.3 and employs the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface, which means four lanes are employed for simultaneously transferring and receiving data, resulting in impressive performance of up to 3,300MB/s read and 1,250MB/s write. PCIe (or PCI Express) is a significantly quicker interface than SATA (or Serial ATA) for connecting a host computer to solid-state storage devices via one or more lanes, with one transmit and one receive serial interface in each lane, allowing it to meet new performance requirements. NVMe (or NVM Express) is a host controller interface standard developed to meet the demands of enterprise and client applications that use solid-state storage that is PCI Express-based.
