Let us talk about the preinstalled software first, before we discuss the performance. Apart from the Care Center shown in the screenshot, there is the software tool Nitro Sense, which displays the RPM of both fans as well as the CPU and GPU load and temperature. Furthermore, it features several energy-saving and fan-setting modes. We conducted all our tests using the automatic fan control (without CoolBoost). Nvidia Optimus allows the Nitro 5 to switch between the dedicated GeForce GPU and the integrated GPU of the processor (UHD Graphics 630). This saves energy during modest tasks and increases the battery life. The Nitro 5 does not provide Nvidia G-Sync technology for elimination of screen tearing.
